An Excuse to Post, a meem!
Dec. 10th, 2008 09:26 amAlright, I haven't posted in a while. I've thought about it, but haven't really had the energy. Anyway, thanks to a meem I got from Sifukatara, I now have a good reason. So here we go!
01. What are your nicknames?
Kat to my family, Kathy to some of my friends and teachers, Kate to most people I know online, Fraggie to some of my friends on Muppetcentral, and sometimes Monkeybutt to my mom, (don't ask).
02. How do you style your hair?
Just run a brush through it and leave it down.
03. What's new in your life right now?
Well, I just registered for next semester's classes, and I found out that I only need tree more for my associates. That's something...
04. How many colors are you wearing now?
I’m really not sure. Since I’m visually impaired, I don't really pay too much attention to colors. I'm wearing a pair of jeans, so they're either blue or black.
05. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
A bit of an introvert I'm afraid, but I do love making friends who share my interests!
06. What was the last book you read?
Abbie and the Best Kid Ever. Not bad, although I think I might have enjoyed it more if it had been on audio. That way, I could have listened to it, and got more into the feel and spirit of it.
07. Do you nap a lot?
Not usually. Only occasionally, if I'm sick, or abnormally tired due to staying up late.
08. If the person you secretly like is already taken, what would you do?
Just say, "oh well," and move on. Maybe kick myself a little for not telling him I liked him first.
09. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Oh boy, ain't that the loaded question? Just kidding, sort of. Well, getting on towards the holidays, I suppose what's been on my mind lately is the way people talk about them. What really bugs me is the way people are always so grumbly and full of complaints around this time. Sure, things are not the best right now, but let's try to find the good where we can! By complaining, and focussing so much attention on the poor economy, the crowds at the stores, the bad weather, and in general how bad things are, you only make them moreso for yourself, as well as anyone else who's listening. The same thing goes for commercialism, and the more material aspects of Christmas. I personally like things like the Christmas displays in stores, and toy commercials on TV, as long as they don't go too far, which some do and some don't. But if you complain about it, you only draw more attention to it, and take away from others' enjoyment. Complaining is nothing new, but it just seems to be trendier than ever this year! Sorry, I've been wanting to get that off my chest for a while, and here seemed like the most appropriate place to do so.
10. What's your favorite dessert?
Tiramisu if I go out to a restaurant that has it. If I'm at home, then whatever kind of icecream is at hand.
11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
About twenty minutes or so. I don't usually do too much with myself appearance-wise.
12. What websites do you visit daily?
fanfiction.net, LJ, muppetcentral.com.
13. What classes are you taking right now? And if you're not in school any more, what's your job?
Right now, I'm going to school part time, and taking a biology class, creative writing and a health class for gym credit.
14. Do you like to clean?
Not really. I'm not a very tidey person most of the time.
15. What's the last song that got stuck in your head?
Hammer and Nails by the Tweedles from Adventures in Wonderland
16. What's the last movie you saw?
In theaters, Baby Mama. Some parts of it were good.
17. What's better: eternal love or memorable love?
I'd have to go with eternal love. Any "memorable loves" that have been in my life, romantically speaking that is, have been memorable for the wrong reasons. Besides, if you have an eternal love, it'll always be memorable to you anyway, because it'll always be there.
18. What is your least favorite thing to do that you have to do everyday?
Getting dressed, seriously! I feel better when I do get dressed for the day, naturally; it's just that the actual process is one of those unavoidable delays that take time. Yes, I admit I'm lazy.
19. Best time of your life?
Probably when I went to Huntington, Long Island last year and met Dave Goelz, Jane Henson, Craig Shemin, Kevin Clash, and Fran Brill in person, got pictures with all of them, and got Gonzo's autograph.
20. What are you most looking forward to in the coming month?
Well, now that I think of it, there are actually a few things to look forward to, which is nice. I feel like it's somewhat wrong of me not to say Christmas, but that actually comes second. Materialistic as it sounds, what I'm actually looking forward to most in the near future is the trip to the mall my mom and I have planned for next week. Contrary to most people, I've always liked Christmas shopping. It feels good to get people things I know they need, want or like. More than that though, I enjoy being able to get out, which I haven't been able to do much lately for various reasons, (saving money, and our schedules for the most part), and spend some quality time with my mom.
